Will I ever learn?

I’m awed every Holiday when my bud Kelly over at Wahm Talk Radio rounds up the support of the WAHM community to help fill Christmas business wishes! It’s so fun to be a part of it and watch it all as it unfolds. This year there were some pretty big stockings to stuff and they got stuffed. How cool is that? There are several posts to read at Kelly’s blog about all the stockings that were stuffed so head on over and read all about it.

But what I really wanted to mention in this post is that someone in the WAHM community once again touched my life in a huge blessing sort of way! I am purposely not mentioning her name. Sometimes people just don’t want to have their names mentioned and I didn’t ask her if I could mention her or not so I decided it was best just to leave out her name. I got an email today from her and she wanted to know if I was still interested in a laptop. Oh how I want a laptop so bad. Not only because it will simplify my life and make my business mobile but because ever since my computer was infected with a virus back at the end of August it’s been having some major issues (I’ve been able to work around them but it’s difficult sometimes). And it’s once again been infected with a virus causing some issues once again. The most annoying being that every couple minutes new windows are opening up with advertising and I have to close them down. Sometimes when it does this it causes my puter to freeze and I have to reboot.

Anyways…yeah back to the email (see what I mean about getting off on tangents? LOL)…I emailed her back letting her know I was definitely still interested in one but at the moment I wasn’t in a position to purchase one. I figured that was the end of it. But it wasn’t. A few minutes later a reply comes back telling me she wasn’t interested in selling it to me but giving it to me! Did you get that? G-I-V-I-N-G GIVING. As in FREE.

It brought me to tears and she honestly has NO idea how much of a blessing she is and how much it means to me that she would just willingly pack it up and ship it to me for free. Not expecting anything in return. Just doing it because she wants to. I could muster about one word after that. WOW.

1. My mother named me after a dog! I still wonder to this day whether that’s a true fact or just something I was told. Either way – it’s scared me for life!
2. Don’t leave bread crumbs in my butter. I repeat DO NOT leave bread crumbs in my butter. It grosses me out.
3. I love dipping nacho cheese flavored Doritos in tuna fish. Hey don’t knock it till ya try it!
4. I LOVE cleaning. Not just like but love. Even as a teen I was neat and tidy.
5. I don’t ‘get’ jokes a lot when they are told. I’ll laugh like I got it but it usually doesn’t ’sink’ in until later and that’s when I’ll bust out laughing.
6. I’m a total non girly girl. I’m all about baseball caps, no make-up, jeans, t-shirts. But don’t take my acrylic nails away cause then I’ll get mean
7. I hate feet. I don’t like mine being touched. Feet are gross. They remind me of fungus or something.

My mom and step dad have been married for….uhm geesh I don’t even know. A really long time anyways. And they never had a ‘real’ wedding or wedding reception. It was a justice of the peace wedding and I honestly don’t think they even had any sort of reception but they might of had a small get together with family. So it was kind of cool that after my step dad entered the contest that they were chose as one of the couples!

It’s going to be like the wedding they never had. There will be a ceremony followed by dinner and dancing! It’s gonna be a blast and I can’t wait to have a night out. Especially after the recent events with my crummy car. But I’m kind of excited too because I’ll have a date. Yes a date.

Bet ya’ll are wondering how that came about

I haven’t wrote about him (my ‘friend’ D) which seems funny considering I generally don’t hold back anything. And he doesn’t know about my blog. But I guess I just haven’t wrote because I wasn’t sure there was anything to write about. But I think when you look forward to hearing from someone everyday and wonder when you’ll get to see him again then there’s something to write about

He’s older (not by much – only a couple years). He has a good job. He knows what he wants out of life. He’s cute. He’s nice. I enjoy spending time with him. I enjoy talking to him. He’s smart. He’s funny. He’s cute (oh did I mention that already…LOL). He’s a single dad. He’s kind. He’s caring. He’s a good guy. I’d like to spend more time with him but he lives about an hour away from me so I don’t get to see him much.

Yeah so I guess I had something to write about Anyways I talked to him on the phone last night and while I had thought about asking him to join me as my date I just hadn’t done it. And then for some reason I just came out and asked him. Realized the worst that would happen is he would tell me no but he didn’t. It’s going to be fun!

And I’m even looking forward to getting all dressed up girly. The dress I’m wearing is so cute! Yes I’m wearing a dress. I’m borrowing it from my best friend (aren’t best friends the greatest?) and the fact that I’m even wearing a DRESS is a huge milestone for me. Dresses just aren’t my thing. But this one fit great, including the ‘girls’ that I so often have a hard time finding anything other than t-shirts to fit those babies. It’s a simple black dress with a silver sparkly belt and then I’ll dress it up even more by finding a little jacket thing to wear over it (it’s sleeveless), some cute highheels (which I’m curious if I’ll even REMEMBER how to walk in those things!) and of course some jewelry.

It was nice posting something postive today unlike yesterday’s ‘downer’ post! I thought it was bad being up North with a broken down car – it really does suck even more in the city.

Oh and to the big man upstairs – could you please just miraculously drop a car in the driveway for me? I’m not picky. Ok not too picky. I’d just like one that is DRIVEABLE, RELIABLE, has ALL windows that roll down, has doors that lock and that’s about it. (told ya I wasn’t too picky!)
