You would think it would be easy to answer the question who are you/who am I. I mean I’m me I should know this answer. I don’t have the answer. I have this hang up when it comes to this question.

You see I’ve always labeled myself (single mom, Christian, work at home mom, etc) but those are exactly that – labels and nothing more. Sure they have lots to do with the person I am but I don’t know who I am. (did that confuse you? lol)

If I take away those labels and think about that phrase (who am I/who are you) I sit staring into thin air with this glazed look in my eyes. Because honestly I feel like I can’t answer. I don’t think I truly know who I am.

I’ve spent so many years of my life as a people pleaser, always doing doing doing to make everyone happy. Everyone but me that is. I’ve spent years in relationships that were bad all because I thought I had to have a man in my life so it was better to have a bad relationship than no relationship. I’ve spent years seeking this and that thinking that once I achieved this or that I’d be happy. I’ve spent years going up and down in my weight because I’ve thought if only I was skinnier….

So in other words I’ve spent all these years doing this-n-that, seeking this-n-that, looking here-n-there and everywhere for this-n-that thinking that somewhere along the way I’d figure out who I was. But I haven’t.

I’m embarking on the journey of finding out who I am…again. This time it’s with a different mindset. It’s not about who I want to be or what others want me to be. It’s about what God wants me to be. What He has planned and purposed for me to be. It wasn’t an accident that I was created, He had a plan and purpose way back then and He still has that plan and purpose today!

A remarkable woman that I’m blessed to know (not personally but virtually) has created a course titled Pathways to Authentic Living. It goes along with everything I’m working on right now and the lessons are powerful and make me do lots of soul searching! The price for the course is reasonable and I highly recommend that you Click here and start your change today!

Very First Detroit Tigers Baseball Game Experience:

Friday July 24th for the very first time ever I experienced a Tigers game in person. And it ROCKED! I was in awe of Comerica Park and how big it was…and how many people were there!

Here’s a Few Pics:

Fireworks After the Game:
Oh I have NEVER seen a firework display like the one they gave us after the game. Wowsers did it ever rock! I just figured out I could take videos with my digital cam so I took about 3 minutes worth of video of the ending of the fireworks. It was great! And of course for whatever reason when I put in the embed code from YouTube it doesn’t work on here so if you’d like to check out the video you can view it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQAGqFSNUJs.

I’ve hit the 2 week mark which is how long it usually takes me to get into a routine and full swing with counting my points, etc. Things are going really well still. I love how easy Weight Watchers is and how it doesn’t restrict me from any foods as long as I count the points. I’ve chosen to refrain from all the junk I used to eat although I did treat myself to a Dairy Queen chocolate cone (and let me just say that chocolate cone was SOOOO worth those points I used!!!) and I can’t believe how good I feel eating so much fruit and vegetables! I’m pretty sure by body is thanking me

The weight loss this past week was good. I was obviously hoping for more but I also know that the healthy average loss per week is about 2 pounds so I exceeded that and won’t complain. Instead I’ll be proud of the accomplishment of 15.4 pounds gone in just two weeks.

I posted that the first week I lost 11 pounds. However, I screwed up on my math (yeah I’m not the brightest bulb in the package when it comes to math LOL) and actually it was only 10.4 pounds.

Weight Loss Stats:

Week One: Down 10.4 lbs
Week Two: Down 5 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 15.4 lbs

I found an awesome recipe that sounded soooo goood and no wonder it sounded so good it was so nice & fattening but with a few alterations I made it a bit healthier and Weight Watchers friendly.

Bacon Guacamole Wrap:

2 Flour Tortilla Shells (I used the 6 inch size ones)
2 slices Turkey Bacon
2 TBSP Garden Vegetable 1/3 less fat cream cheese
2 TBSP Chunky Salsa
lettuce
2 TBSP guacamole

Directions:

1. Spread each tortilla with cream cheese.

2. Add salsa and shredded lettuce.

3. Place bacon on tortilla shell.

4. Top with guacamole. Roll up and serve.

Weight Watcher Points Info:

2 flour tortillas (6 inch in size): 3 points
2 slices turkey bacon: 2 points
2 tbsp garden vegetable 1/3 less fat cream cheese: 2 points
2 tbsp chunky salsa: 0 points
lettuce: 0 points
2 tbsp guacamole: 1 point

Total Points: 8

…or maybe that was supposed to say spring is in the air Which spring is in the air. Well kind of. It flutters back and forth between being in the 50’s – 60’s to being in the 30’s. But the snow has melted. As in all of it. And that makes me a happy camper.

Anyways. I love softball. I’ve loved it ever since I first played it in the 6th grade. I loved it even more the older I got and the better I got at it. By the end of my Senior year season I walked away with a couple different awards and recognitions. One of the saddest things about being a Senior was knowing that I wouldn’t play ball again.

Thankfully I’ve had the opportunity to play on a few leagues a couple different times. One of the 1st things I was excited about after moving down here and getting settled into my new church was finding out they had a softball league!

The last couple weeks I’ve been seeing signs about the first softball meeting. But I was a bit disappointed that I wouldn’t be playing because of my back. This morning I was exceptionally disappointed because the meeting is tomorrow night. I’ve been praying for and believing in healing but decided that I could use some extra prayer this morning. At the end of service the prayer team is always up front if you need prayer for anything so I took the opportunity. I walked out of there with more flexibility and movement than I’ve had in about a month (maybe it’s only been like 2 or 3 weeks..don’t remember for sure)! I’ve done things around the house today with less pain than I’ve felt in a long time. I walked through Wal-Mart while Caleb and I grocery shopped for an hour-n-half and didn’t burst out in tears by the time we got home because of pain. I’m sitting at my computer desk for the first time in awhile without pain shooting up my back or down my legs.

So I’m going to that softball meeting tomorrow night. I know that by the time practices start my back will be 100% healed and I’ll be as good as new and ready to go! Even more exciting than getting to play the sport I love is that I’ll be interacting socially on a pretty frequent basis I’m sure and meeting new people.

OMG my heart rate still hasn’t returned to normal after that Superbowl game. It was way tooooooo close for comfort! For a few minutes there I actually thought my team wasn’t going to pull it off. I thought that the Cardinals had actually come back and won it! But an amazing catch at the end of the game by Santonio Holmes put the Steelers back in the lead putting them in position to walk away as the winners! It was certainly an amazing game. The Cardinals played hard and didn’t give up even back in the beginning when they were pretty far behind.

I’m pretty clueless when it comes to football. Like I still don’t understand all those downs and flag on a play, etc etc but let me tell ya it totally didn’t stop me from getting into it! I was like a mad woman. Yelling at the TV, pulling my hair, biting my nails and even almost dropping my laptop! My face is still flushed, heart rate still up and butterflies in my stomach.

I think the butterflies in my stomach might be from something other than the football game. Well actually it pertains to the football game. I think it has something to do with head coach Mike Tomlin. OMG that man is F-I-N-E FINE! Talk about some eye candy! Steeler football took on a whole new meaning for me tonight

Here’s a couple Google images I found of him
