Wow it’s so hard to believe that my baby turned 11 today! I can’t wrap my brain around  the fact that 11 years ago today I was giving birth!

I think back 11 years and it just doesn’t seem possible that I was welcoming the most adorable, handsomest, cutest kid (ok so maybe I’m a bit biased lol) into this world.

I remember how scared I was but excited at the same time. I knew that life was about to change but how big of a change I had no idea.

Suddenly life wasn’t about me anymore. It was about this amazing little (well little he wasn’t…weighing in at 9 13 1/2 and 21 1/2 inches long) person, this life that I had just given birth to.

Life has certainly had it’s ups and downs and while being a single mom since 6 days before his 1st birthday has been 1 of the hardest things I’ve ever done…it’s also been the most rewarding thing.

To sit and look at the young man I’ve raised over the last 11 years amazes me.

Every tear, every smile, every triumph, every defeat, everything we’ve been through means more to me than I can put into words. I wouldn’t change anything because it’s all been worth it, it’s all made me a better person, a stronger person.

Having my son has taught me so many things but that’s another post for another day lol. So…happy birthday to my ‘baby’ that isn’t a baby anymore!
