So I had this post started the other day but because I couldn’t actually access the internet from our Condo at Boyne Mountain (Deer Lake Villas) I couldn’t post this. So technically I’m not blogging from the condo anymore…I’m back home. LOL

Some of my family and I were staying at the condo because it was my step dad’s 50th birthday (well a few weeks ago) and my mom wanted to do something special instead of just doing the normal cake & ice cream at the house. And actually we decided it would be easier to celebrate 3 birthdays all at once (my step dads, my moms & my sons).

It was great having everyone together. It’s been awhile since I’ve had the chance to hang out with everyone all at once. Caleb had a blast and he planned on pulling an all nighter but ‘mean mommy’ nipped that in the bud making him go to bed around 3am.

I was a little disappointed that because of the weather (it was cold and rainy) I didn’t use the pool or hot tub. I was going to at least go up to the pool so Caleb could swim but even the weather was too much for him to take the ‘plunge’ in the pool. It’s a heated pool so it probably wouldn’t have been that bad once we got in but I know it would have been freezing cold as soon as we got out and the air hit us. So basically I chickened out! LOL

But all in all it was still a lot of fun. All of us, except for my mom who stayed back and watched my niece, went up to the main lodge to take Caleb to the arcade. The adults had a few drinks while he played games. I wouldn’t let him bring all his birthday money with him because I knew he’d blow right through it like kids can so easily do! Sure enough he blew through the $15 he did bring like it was nothing. But that’s ok it was a special occasion and not something we do often.

We all decided that this is something we would like to make a yearly event so I’m looking forward to next year’s ‘family reunion’ already. We all decided that we would do it earlier in the year though so that we can enjoy more of the amenities that the resort has to offer! And not to mention that I’ll have a whole year to save up so that I can partake in some of the spa services they provide!!!! And believe me when I say I’ll need a year to save up for their services (ok maybe that’s a bit dramatic! lol). I about choked when I looked at this Solace Spa pricing chart.
