Watch out Girls Your Thongs could be Dangerous
This article just goes to prove that we live in a society full of sue happy people. Remember the lady that sued McDonald’s because she spilled coffee on her lap? Yeah I remember laughing at that story…not that it’s funny at all that she was burned but the fact that someone would think of suing over that is crazy.
I didn’t think that I’d ever hear of a lawsuit that would top the McDonald’s one but holy Toledo this chic suing Victoria’s Secret for a faulty thong…is ludicrous!!!! I can’t stop laughing. I don’t find it funny that her eye was injured due to the decorative heart that flew off (it might of been a staple I don’t remember) but the fact that she’s turning it into a lawsuit is hilarious.
I couldn’t stop giggling when I read the article but the video made me laugh even harder. I mean seriously…come on people! Is this for real? I just can’t even believe it. And where in the world did she find this lawyer that was willing to even take on a case like this? Good grief! The lawyer says it’s not about the money, it’s about the manufacturer making defective merchandise…oh puuuuuuuhlease! Give me a break. During the interview the lawyer was asked how much they were suing for and he wouldn’t say. He did say something about it being a certain kind of lawsuit and it’s over $25,000.00. For a thong that broke? I’m just appalled that someone would sue over this and not to mention the fact it happened over a year ago.
What are your thoughts about all this?

I agree with you Tishia! People are so “sue-happy” these days that they will look for anyting that will help them make a quick buck and get their 15 min of fame.
I would hope that a judge would see this case and through it out but honestly… I don’t have much faith in our judicial system these days.

While I agree with you in principle, it’s worth pointing out that the McDonalds Coffee law suit is one of the least frivolous ones. It’s not just about spilled coffee.
McDonalds had been repeatedly alerted to the fact that coffee made according to their guidelines was too hot and could cause severe injuries. McDonalds ignored that and kept guidelines in place. When the lady finally spilled the coffee over her lap, she didn’t just get hot coffee on her lap – she got 3rd-degree burns that required several ten thousand dollars of surgery, all because McD refused to update their guidelines.
Just a little fact to keep in mind….

Thanks for all the comments and all your input.
Robert – Thanks for pointing out the info about McDonalds…I guess I didn’t know that they had been warned about their guidelines before this incident happened.
Maybe I was bit ‘harsh’ in comparing this thong lawsuit with the McDonalds lawsuit.

Okay…hold up….did anybody else go watch the video that Tishia provided a link for?
That woman knows full well she is too big to be wearin’ a thong! And I can say that because I’m a big girl too…don’t anybody try to send the fat police after me.
As for the McDonald’s case….there’s a thing in law called “assumption of risk”. If you’re holding a cup of coffee, you need to assume there’s a risk you’ll spill it. Additionally, if you’re wearing a thong, you need to assume you’re going to get a wedgie.
Some people are so deseperate for their 15 minutes of fame. It’s sad.

I love to wear thongs and sometimes I too have had one that breaks. Not because I am a big woman, but because the elasticity of the band just stretches too much. This is an outrage! The fact that Victoria’s Secret would sell a faulty thong is ludicrous! I think if someone is going to be paying that amount of money for something, no matter what it is, it should be made well. Would you not cause a ruckus if your purse strap broke as soon as you bought it?
