I was a little apprehensive last year when Caleb got into wrestling because it’s such a rough sport. But he excelled for it being his first year. So I’m amazed at how awesome he’s doing this year. He’s became much more aggressive out there on the mat (I have video seems how my stupid digital camera is broke…but I need cables to be able to put the video on here so hopefully I’ll get it figured out one of these days), has perfected a couple moves and takes no mercy on that mat!

Last weekend he walked away with a 1st place medal (winning all 3 matches), the weekend before he took home 2nd place and then he took 1st place again today, again winning all 3 matches. I knew the boy had some strength (believe me he’s used it on me before!!!) but to see him pick some of the boys up and drop them to the mat yesterday shocked me! LOL I can’t stop grinning thinking about the sparkle in his eye, the sense of accomplishment, the sense of pride in what he accomplished. Even one of the coaches of one of the kids he wrestled commented about how aggressive he is!

The greatest part of the day was on his 3rd match. Each match consists of 3, 1 minute intervals. If you pin your opponent it’s over (pinning your opponent means getting them on their back on the mat and holding them down in a way that they can’t get out of it and both their shoulders touch the ground – it’s not easy to do). Anyways during the 2nd interval Caleb pinned his opponent! It was so flipping AWESOME! And that was that match – it was over and he walked away with that victory too.

Jeez can you tell I’m a proud mama?
