Tell Me Thursday

Last week was the kickoff of Tell Me Thursday but I didn’t have a Wordless Wednesday post so obviously I couldn’t participate in TMT. So today is my first day – how fun.

The story behind yesterday’s WW post:

Nothing overly exciting but I certainly thought the picture was priceless and the music…well I guess it was sort of ‘music’ to my ears, it was certainly a wake up call to stop and enjoy life’s little things more often!

My son loves loves loves his guitar. It was given to him by my step dad which was given to him by my grandma. So it’s been in the family for a long time. Anyways, he was strumming away on the guitar and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t getting on my nerves. Because believe me I had heard enough…LOL. I didn’t want to hurt his feelings but I had to ask him to either stop or take it in the other room.

I did hurt his feeling. He stomped off and was muttering under his breath. And for the record I don’t know what he said and I’m sure I don’t want to know! But he kept strumming away on it and even though it was in another room it was still getting on my nerves.

I had to laugh though when I heard him start making up a song and singing…

My mom doesn’t like my music, no she don’t.
My mom told me to leave the room, so I did.
I’m in my closet, strumming my guitar, singing the blues. Oh yeah.
Wonder if she will like it now

I snuck as quietly as I could down the hall (which was hard because I wanted to laugh out loud so bad!!!!), grabbed the camera, peaked around the closet door & snapped the pic! It was perfect! The look on his face was of total and utter shock and it was exactly what I wanted ;-)

We had a good laugh and it just reminded me to not let the small things get on my nerves but enjoy the special moments because they don’t last long.

You can participate in Tell me Thursday by telling about your Wordless Wednesday photo and linking here.

That is so funny. What is it about the closet? My kids love to play in there too.

What a “priceless” story (and picture)! I know what you mean about not wanting to hurt their feelings when they are being creative…sometimes it’s hard to be diplomatic when are kids know us all too well!

By the I think your son is quite the song writer!
