Softball Scrimmage
Last night was my second softball practice. We had a scrimmage and even though we lost (8-10) it was a blast! The team we scrimmaged was a lot of fun and that’s what all of us are there for anyways, to have fun! It’s actually been a lot of fun playing on a co-ed team so far. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I love 2nd base and I’m glad that’s where they put me yesterday. It’s where I feel most comfortable, it’s my ‘turf’. I was pretty impressed with my batting abilities yesterday too. I guess when you have frustration to take out, picking up a bat & swinging at a ball isn’t such a bad thing
I wasn’t thrilled that Caleb’s dad was going to be dropping Caleb off there. I didn’t have a problem that Caleb was coming there, it was his dad coming there that I had a problem with. I’m totally irritated with his dad (then again what’s new?) so just the thought of him coming and ‘intruding’ irritated me. And when Caleb and I were on our way home and Caleb informed me that his dad was laughing at me it irritated me. Ugh that man gets on my nerves like you would not believe! And it annoys me to no end that to this day he still makes fun of me and the things I do. What’s so funny about softball and me playing? It’s been 8 or 9 years since I last played but it’s like riding a bike – it all comes back to ya as soon as you get out there. And I’m actually half way decent at it so it’s not like I strike out or miss a bunch of plays to be laughed at. And of course the 30 seconds I had to talk to the man, he was a dink to me which ended up being a good thing cause my frustration towards him went into hitting that ball and I had a couple really awesome hits. I need to learn to let the crap he says to me roll off my back and pay no attention to it but he knows how to get under my skin and irritate the he** out of me!
Anyways…I also managed to mess up my knee yesterday. I injured my right knee in a skiing accident way back when I was a senior in high school and every so often I seem to ‘re-injure’ it. The bag on 2nd base wasn’t attached very firmly and I came down on the bag during a play and it wobbled enough that it twisted my ankle which ended up doing something to my knee. It’s not too bad, nothing a little ice & heat hasn’t helped. It does seem to be a bit swollen today and pretty stiff feeling but I’ll survive.

LMAO, after reading the entire post, I’m still laughing at you calling Caleb’s Dad a dink!! I’m totally going to call someone a dink today!
I think it’s awesome that you’re playing softball! I don’t have the guts to play sports in front of anyone. I’d feel like people would be watching me saying, “Hey! Look at the fat girl trying to run!” LOL Plus I don’t have any hand/eye coordination anyway. They wouldn’t get the chance to laugh at me running the bases because I’d never to able to hit the ball!
