One Month Today…
I was driving a big ole U-Haul with 4 years of my life in it. Saying good bye to Northern Michigan and apartment living. Heading 3 hours south to the city and a house. Ready to embark on a new chapter in life. And here I am one month later grinning just thinking about the fact that I did it. I really did it. I stopped talking and took action. (oh my gosh! I just realized I didn’t get a pic of me behind the wheel of that U-Haul! What was I thinking? Hello that would have been a blog worthy pic for sure!!!! LOL).
It still seems surreal to me. I’ve talked and wanted the city life for so long that I think my brain is still stuck in the ‘past’ and the talking/wanting phase. But it only takes a couple minutes every morning to bring myself back to reality and the ‘realness’ of my house.
Here are some before & after unpacking pics:
Caleb’s Room Before & After :

Living Room Before & After (B taking a rest in before pic…we had just finished unloading the U-Haul):

Kitchen Before & After (Caleb holding Spazz in both pics!):

Bathroom (No before pic to show):

My Office (No before pic to show):

My Bedroom (No before pic):

If you noticed in the kitchen picture I have a table but no chairs. Yeah that’s kind of a big problem. I’m waiting for my dad and step mom to come down one weekend and bring me the table & chairs they have for me to use.
In the bathrooom pic I don’t know if it’s noticeable but there is a shower curtain behind the fabric one that has yellow ducks on it. Yes ducks. At the time I bought it at a store called Family Dollar they were out of clear ones and only had the yellow ducks so I had to take what they had.
In the living room pic I still have a gazillion pics to arrange and hang. Plus I have to get B’s husband to come over and lift my 32 inch TV for me. It’s an old one that my dad gave me a long time ago and I swear it has to weigh like 80 pounds! I don’t NEED a man for anything but in this case I have to admit I do need a man’s help
(you can see the big ole TV in the before pic…I’m tellin ya it’s H-E-A-V-Y!)
I’m totally diggin the new pad! Caleb informed me he’ll live out of boxes (actually they are more like toybox tote type things) forever because he’d rather have a messy unpacked room that a nice neat one. And for this neat freak OCD mom you can only begin to imagine how that room of his is driving me BONKERS! But I’m practicing letting go of my anal ways and I figure eventually he’ll HAVE to get tired of the mess. Won’t he???

It’s only been a month??? Feels like forever! Everytime I go to the post office, I think about you living back there and then remember that you don’t anymore. But, I am happy for you! I can’t wait to come down to see you!!! We will have to do lunch! You’ll have to take me to a cool restaurant down there, one we don’t have up here!!!
