Merry Belated Christmas
Christmas sure came up pretty fast this year and now I can’t believe it’s already over. I’m back home after a few days up North with family. I’ve done my fair share of driving in HORRIBLE weather to last me a lifetime! I was going to leave the day before Christmas Eve but weather prevented me from doing so. Well Christmas Eve driving was horrendous. Actually when I first started out it was ok but the last couple hours of the trip were nail biting to say the least. There were times that the line of traffic (there was pretty much only one lane on the expressway for the last few hours of my trip) was only moving 30 miles an hour. By the time I got off the expressway and to my mom’s I didn’t know if my headache was because of this nasty upper respiratory junk I have going on or because I was so tense from driving through the junk I just drove through. I’d like to say that was the last of bad weather driving for Christmas Eve but it wasn’t. I had dinner at 5:30pm with my dad’s side of the family and it was purely by the grace of God that I made it back to my mom’s after that. There were times that I didn’t know whether I was on the right side, left side or in the middle of the road because of the whiteouts!
Christmas Day was uneventful. I didn’t have to drive anywhere (Thank God!!!) and because I didn’t feel good I pretty much layed around all day and all night. I did get to snuggle and cuddle with my niece Adrian who is getting so big now! I layed down for a nap at about 5pm and when I woke up from my “nap” it was 9:40pm!!! And then I was back in bed at 11pm and slept until almost 9am. Pretty amazing that I’m still tired and just want to sleep.
I talked to Caleb Christmas Eve night and it sent me into a fit of tears. It was really hard not having him with me. After 9 years of having him Christmas Eve and Christmas morning it’s a pretty big adjustment to all of a sudden not have him around. I can’t believe I won’t see him until the 4th yet!!! It seems so far away.
