February 12th is the national Doing Business in Your Bathrobe Day.  A day that celebrates the freedom that working at home provides.  This year I’ve decided to take part in it.  Last year I was too new to the wonderful world of working from home to really care about being involved in it.  Now that I’ve had the opportunity to be self employeed for the past year I have new meaning on what that ‘freedom’ really means.

I’ve got my bathrobe all ready to go along with my nice fuzzy warm slippers.  I can’t wait!  In spirit of the day I’ve also sent a press release to my local newspaper.  I was feeling pretty confident about sending it out but now that I’ve sat on the thought for several hours I’m nervous….LOL!  I’m not sure if I’m ready for the possibility of having a story ran in the local paper (if they decide they want to interview me & run a story).  I’m just a small town girl living in the world of working from home, is that really newsworthy?  What would I have to offer in an interview?  What would I say?  And to think I’d have to be in my bathrobe in the pic for the paper – man what was I thinking????  LOL!

I guess there really is no sense in being anxious about the situation because I don’t even know if they will run a story.  I know that one thing I wanted to do this year in terms of goals was to begin stepping outside of my comfort zone and this would definitely meet that goal   Maybe I’ll get my 15 seconds of fame, we’ll see
