Wow I just can’t believe that my baby is 8 today!  Where has all the time went?  The first 6 years of my son’s life I missed so much.  He was raised by different daycares while I worked.  That’s where all the time went!  I’m so glad that I’m a work at home mom (WAHM) now and able to spend time with him. 

What a little man by baby is becoming.  It’s amazing to stop and watch him now – so independent yet still dependent.  He has transformed from the mommy I need you baby/toddler into this young child that seems to no longer need mommy (well at least not as much as mommy wants him to need her). 

It seems like just yesterday I was making his formula and feeding him but now today I’m sitting here watching him make his own peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  And now he is pouring his own glass of milk, all without a single “Mom can you help me?” (tears have now filled my eyes).  What happened to the little boy that used to need mommy? 

And to think it’s only the 8th birthday!  What am I going to do when he turns 16 and suddenly will be driving?  Yikes!  Thank goodness that’s several more years.  I need time to grasp the fact that my baby is growing into a young man already (sigh)!
